Business Hours on Holidays:
Banks, public offices, and museums will close on national and municipal holidays. However, shopping centres, large supermarkets, private enterprise attractions, and some shops will normally remain open, except for New Year's Day, Christmas Day, and Easter Sunday. Most restaurants, cafes, and bars will also remain open for holidays, especially in resort locations.
Practical guest planning
Book holiday meals in advance when possible, especially for Easter, June holidays, and Christmas week.
If one pharmacy or restaurant is closed, nearby tourist zones often have alternatives open.
For museum/municipal services, assume closure unless the official website confirms otherwise.
On municipal holidays, neighboring towns may operate normally, so cross-town planning helps.
What usually stays open
Major supermarket chains (reduced schedules possible).
Shopping centres and many private attractions.
Most cafes and restaurants in resort/coastal areas.
Fuel stations on key roads and motorway service areas.
What is most likely closed
Banks and post-office style public counters.
Municipal and state-admin offices.
Some independent local shops (full-day closures are common).
