The Basics & Greetings

• Olá (oh-LAH) = Hello

• Bom dia = Good morning

• Boa tarde = Good afternoon

• Boa noite = Good evening / good night

• De nada = You're welcome

• Desculpe = Excuse me / sorry

• Fala inglês? = Do you speak English?

For guests, a simple “Olá, bom dia” before asking a question usually gets warmer and faster help.

• Quero ir para ... = I want to go to ...

• A que horas sai o autocarro? = What time does the bus leave?
